Atea announces collaboration with AWS to provide Nordic customers with hybrid cloud solutions

Atea has already launched a broad collaboration with Microsoft, VMware, IBM and Red Hat, and now announces the same with Amazon Web Services (AWS). In total, 400 Atea consultants and sales employees will be trained and certified in AWS technology during the next 2 years.

“Atea has launched a major initiative to develop its business within cloud solutions. Our collaboration with AWS is a key component which enables Atea to offer its customers a complete hybrid multicloud platform. We will be the Nordic market leader in providing AWS cloud services and support”, commented Steinar Sønsteby, CEO Atea.

All the companies mentioned above have invested heavily to construct and operate local data centers in the Nordic region. These investments, combined with Atea’s seven local data centers and its customers’ own resources, provide an ideal foundation for helping customers to develop a modern hybrid infrastructure.

Atea began working on a strategic plan together with AWS over one year ago. This included an analysis of how AWS services can best create value for Nordic customers. With AWS now opening its data center in Sweden, it is a natural time to formally announce the collaboration. AWS will train several hundred Atea consultants to advise and support customers with their own individual needs. The plan also provides Atea with attractive and predictable commercial terms, as well as access to global experts from AWS. AWS products will become an integrated part within each of Atea’s strategic business areas: Information Management, Digital Workplace and Hybrid Platform.

«Atea is committed to be a strategic advisor in our customers’ digitalization journey.  Our customers increasingly see the value creation potential of including cloud solutions in their digital infrastructure. Atea is therefore investing in developing its competence so that we can offer solutions that address each customer’s needs. With our broad product offering and deep competence in IT infrastructure solutions from many vendors, Atea has established a unique position in the markets we serve», commented Carl-Johan Hultenheim, CEO for Atea Sverige.
